Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Christian Religious Education in instilling Christian values ​​and its influence on character formation in students at Mardi Waluyo Junior High School, Cibinong. The research background is based on the importance of Christian character education amidst the challenges of adolescence, such as identity crises, negative social influences, and moral degradation. This study used a quantitative approach with a survey method using a closed-ended Likert-scale questionnaire. The sample consisted of 200 seventh and eighth grade students selected using Krejcie and Morgan tables. The research instrument met validity and reliability tests. Data analysis using simple linear regression showed that the application of Christian values ​​had a positive effect on student character, with a significance value of 0.000 and an influence coefficient of 25.5%. Although the effect is relatively low, the results of this study confirm that Christian Religious Education contributes to the formation of students' Christian character, necessitating strengthening through synergy between the school, family, and social environment.

 

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran Pendidikan Agama Kristen dalam menanamkan nilai-nilai Kristiani serta pengaruhnya terhadap pembentukan karakter peserta didik SMP Mardi Waluyo, Cibinong. Latar belakang penelitian didasarkan pada pentingnya pendidikan karakter Kristen di tengah tantangan remaja berupa krisis identitas, pengaruh lingkungan sosial negatif, dan degradasi moral. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei melalui angket tertutup skala Likert. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 200 peserta didik kelas VII dan VIII yang dipilih menggunakan tabel Krejcie dan Morgan. Instrumen penelitian telah memenuhi uji validitas dan reliabilitas. Analisis data menggunakan regresi linier sederhana menunjukkan bahwa penerapan nilai-nilai Kristiani berpengaruh positif terhadap karakter peserta didik dengan nilai signifikansi 0,000 dan koefisien pengaruh sebesar 25,5%. Meskipun pengaruhnya tergolong rendah, hasil penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa Pendidikan Agama Kristen berkontribusi dalam pembentukan karakter Kristen peserta didik, sehingga perlu penguatan melalui sinergi sekolah, keluarga, dan lingkungan sosial.
